Mehrauli Heritage Walk
This walk explores the area behind the famous Qutb complex. Built in 12th century it stands witness to several empires who came and conquered India in last 800 years. The vast Mehrauli Archaelogical park has hidden away monuments, tombs and graves of famous emperors. Each monument in the neighbourhood has a story to tell: ancient step wells where water smelled of sulphur, a tank where Prophet Muhammad left a mark, martyrdom site of Sikh hero Banda Bahadur,East India company's Thomas Metcalfe's folly, a palace of the Mughals and a still empty grave meant for the last Mughal emperor.
